Filming - Rough Cut 2

This is the second cut of my music video for 'The Hardest Thing in The World'. This version includes footage to fill in the blank gaps in the previous cuts and also makes attempts to correct the editing. As with the previous cut, I found it challenging to edit to the beat of the song perfectly, but overall found I made a good job of it. This cut has a wider variety of edits and varying shots.

This is an improvement - I think the 360 degree shot works very well, as does some of the superimposition. You still need to work on the editing (I think you need jump cuts on the "hey hey hey" when he's on the stairs, to match the cuts earlier and later. Some of the earlier editing needs to match a lot more to the rhythm, particularly in the first verse. Some of the superimposition isn't quite balanced right (the main character is not clearly defined in the earlier sections) and some of the fades don't quite work (for example, in the first few shots).
ReplyDeleteI'm not keen on the instrumental break - could really do with slightly more variety here - but it's not a major issue. Might be worth trying to time the multiple sequences more evidently with the guitar strums. The editing during the sequence when he is in the alley (about 2:20) is a little ropey
I would put this mid L3 now, about 27/28 out of 40, which is a definite improvement.
